Consultations in the comfort of your own home

The first consultation involves taking a detailed case history covering your current main health concerns and current medication, past medical history, general overview of all systems in your body, diet, lifestyle. Blood pressure and pulse will be taken and other clinical examinations may be performed if appropriate.

Please bring with you details of any medication you are currently taking, including supplements, vitamins etc, results of any recent blood tests or other test results from your GP (your GP surgery can print these off for you).

We will then discuss expectations and form a treatment plan including likely timescale and cost. If herbal medicine is appropriate, I will research and plan the most appropriate herbs for you and make up your prescription. This will then be posted out from my dispensary at home or you are welcome to collect. Medicines are often in the form of tinctures, teas, capsules or creams. I post herbal medicines on a Thursday.

Follow-up consultation: This will usually be about two weeks after your initial visit to check your progress, alter any aspects of your prescription and discuss any aspects in more detail. Subsequent follow-ups are arranged at 4-6 week intervals depending on the condition.

Length of treatment can vary hugely depending on the condition and other aspects of your lifestyle. Results can sometimes be achieved in as little as two weeks but chronic conditions may take many months. It may be possible to post out repeat prescriptions without always arranging a follow-up appointment.

Confidentiality

All consultations are strictly confidential and are carried out within the guidelines set by my governing body National Institute of Herbal Medicine. Storage of all personal information and records is compliant with GDPR.
